  1. I really liked the pictures you took that had your subjects off to the side. I think in some cases some of your pictures would be stronger if you placed your subject in a different spot than the center of the photo or looked at some of the subjects in a different angle. For example photo number 8 could communicate more with the emotions of the viewer if you had taken the shot from a unique angle and so the viewer didn't know it was a light straight away. I really enjoyed the use of the negative space in the snow with the footsteps in photo number 11 and it added some mystery behind the concept. POW= 11.

  2. I think all your photos have great potential however, it seemed like you took the majority of them on the same day, at the same time. If you maybe would have taken more photos at different times they would not have looked so similar to each other. As for your self-portraits they looked very staged and posed. Maybe try using a self timer application and rest it on something so your arm will not be in the picture.

My POW is #12. I like how you captured someone in their natural state and that they were most likely unaware that you were taking their photo. The contrast of the black silhouette on the white snow stands out. Also, I like how the trees stand out in this photo. They do not seem to be the focal point of the photo but they still definitely have a place and existence in your photos.

  3. Hi Rebecca. You had a whole theme going with the photos of pathways in the snow. You really captured the misery and beauty that is associated with the dead of winter. I liked photo 10 for the way the darkness and shadow of the tree plays against the backdrop of the white snow all around. For me, photo 11 is your POW. The fact that you chose to frame the pathway off to the side really frames this photo nicely. The way the path itself shows pale and grey really sums up a feeling about the bleakness of winter. Good job.

  4. Hey Rebecca. It appeared as though you had a theme going on throughout your collection, capturing the coldness of the winter in some warmness. My two favorites are definitely 9 and 7. Your POW is 9 for me because it captures the contrast of the setting very well. The darkness of the footsteps against the white of the snow allows the viewer to see that the space was "used" that someone had been there and makes us question who. It offers a story without using words. Number 7 has a beautiful layout and the contrast of the black and white sets up the scene. The natural landscape against something manmade allows two separate worlds to join together in one.

  5. Hey Rebecca! I really enjoy how your photographs all capture a scene in the snow. Each photograph brings me into the scene and makes me feel as though I am too outside. I think your POW is photo #12. I love how the branches on the top of the photograph work to frame the image. I love how the focal point of your photograph is the person walking in the snow with what looks to be a sled. My eye goes straight to the person because of the strong contrast between the bright snow and the dark black outfit on the person.

  6. Hey Rebecca!
I really enjoyed your pictures of the snow but the one that really caught my attention was number 3. The contrast between how white the bathtub is and how dark the flower petals are really stands out to me and I think that would be your POW

  7. Hi Rebecca. You had many similar photographs that were shot in the snow, but my favorite if the bunch and your POW is 9. I lile how you chose to place the tree at the corner of the photo. It makes for a more interesting shot.

  8. Hi, although your pictures of the snow are great, the picture that really caught my eye is #6. The scene has a number of items in it but is centered in away that gives each item its own voice. Also the low lighting creates a sense of mystery.
