Hey Kristi, your pictures are great! My favorites are 1 and 7. I really like 7 because it makes me think of a creepy carnival. The lights are really bright and the darks are really dark. I really like 1 because the texture of the hair really shows. I like the pose as well. I would choose 7 as your POW.
nice focus on how to create nice compositions by framing objects in an interesting way. POW=11 i like the perspective here and how the light reflects off of the tops of the bottles to make nice contrast 8 is interesting to look at too because of how the bucket fades into the back ground and the only relationships are between the white and black
You have captured really interesting photographs. Photographs #1, 7, and 9 are my favorite of the bunch. In photograph 1 you have presented such a unique self portrait, in photograph 7 the contrast created due to the lighting is beautiful, and finally photograph 9 is your POW because of the amazing shadows and tonal quality.
Photo 7 is definitely your POW. The way you framed the subject works very well, and the contrast is fantastic. The tile pattern in photo 4 is interesting, and it is nice that you framed the shot with the feet at the bottom instead of being the focus. Photo 8 is also really great, the level of brightness really works well.
Kristi, your photos are great! 2 shows great contest with the flag against the stark white background. I also love 11 and 10. They are taken from interesting angles. My POW for you is 9. This picture is really mysterious looking to me which I find really appealing. I also love the tone to it.
Kristi. You have several photos that I really like. I love the framing of photo 2 as you had the flag really contrast against the stark white wall behind it. I also really love the framing of photo 4. This photo really creates something. By dropping the feet to the very bottom of the frame you really force the viewer to view the tile work of the floor; something which has much more variation in detail than might first appear to be the case. For me, your POW is photo 12. This is a great shot for its use of contrast between light and shadow and also satisfies the aspect of mystery. The way her eyes disappear into the darkness makes me want to dive deeper into the photo and reveal what is behind that darkness.
Kristi, I have to say that your collection is definitely one of my favorites. I love all of your pictures. My POW is 9. The bluriness of the picture makes me wonder what the face is hiding. You did a great job of concealing the person in the photography but that also makes me want to know more about her. I like that even though she is pretty close, the blur makes her look like she is distant, wanting to be seen in her own shadows. It has a lot of symbolism and the brown tint makes it that much more realistic. I also love 1. The centering of this photograph and the blank background, fading into a bit of a darkness creates a sense of chaos in the picture which is blatantly resonated with the pulling of the hair. There is a calm chaos in this picture that really draws me to it.
I really like photos #6 and 7. #7 has a great contrast between the brightness of the lights on the wheels and the darkness around it. It's a still photo that makes a seemingly fun game feel slightly dark. I really like it!
#6 is really cool because the shadow gives the model a mysterious look. It's a very beautiful photo. Adding to the mystery is the fact that the head isn't shown completely. It's really unique. The slight angle looking up at the model gives the picture depth, too which adds to the strength of the photo.

ReplyDeleteThe grain in photo number 1 looks amazing! Photo number 11 also has great composition. I like the use of contrast in photo number 6 with the shadows.

Hi Kristi,
ReplyDeleteYour POW is #7. I really like the contrast of this picture and it makes me think of a creepy wheel game. Good job!
