POW = 3 nice detail in 3, the composition is very interesting and reminds me of an Asian speak easy door cool self portrait 12, the blurred face but non blurred arms give it a sense of mystery
Hello Laura, nice photographs! I really like the grain in photo #10. It is very cool how you focused on the watch in photo #11, it really makes the photo more interesting. I would say photo #3 is your POW. The contrast between the light and dark in the photo make it really nice to look at.
I really liked how you were not afraid to experiment with blur and action shots in your photo. I liked how your human subjects were not just standing there smiling and posing for you, but actually looked like they were taken in a moment and this helped capture a lot of emotion behind your human subject pieces. You brought the viewer into that moment with you. I really like the contrasts of the photos you took in for example in number 3, but my POW for you is number 4 because you took something unique and made it beautiful. I think you captured a great moment here with the fish and I really like their placement in the photo and the contrast that they have. The fish have a lot of great detail.
Laura, I love your photo 1. The girl in the photo looks relaxed and natural and the lights in the background are really pretty. I also like that the picture doesn't feel posed to me. I think your pow if definitely 3. The contrast between the lights and darks make the photo have a great depth. I also really like that the center of the design is not the center of the photo. It makes it much more interesting.
Hi Laura. I really like photo 9. The way you played with the angle of the shot so that the light was cast through the fan creating shadow against the wall behind is very creative. Still, for me your POW is 4. The way the light strikes the fish against the back drop of darkened water really makes the fish pop out of the pictture. Having said that, I actually think you had several really good shots here.
Hi Laura. I really like 2. It is my POW because of the way that you shot it. The structure is questionable, makes me wonder what it is and even though it takes up most the picture, I like how you included what was around the structure instead of just taking up the entire picture of it. The contrast is great in that picture and I love the detail.
The Construction of the work: the shot uses visual and technical tools such as lines & shapes, good lighting, and a point of view that tricks the mind (I'm really not sure if this is a birds eye, worms, or any other...It's interesting to think about) to make it more dynamic and mysterious.
The Communication of the work: The photo can be read pretty well. The content does not resonate with my own interests, but reminds me of something I'd see in two of my favorite tv shows (Spartacus, and Game Of Thrones), so I feel a kind of attachment to the photo.
The Conception of the work: Im seeing a pattern of motivation for the majority of these photos, which is a tightly composed & close up shots. Maybe even abstraction too. Overall, great job.
Hi Laura! 11 and 3 are my favorites. In 11 it all seems really fuzzy which is different but I just noticed the small focus along the line of where the subjects watch is- very neat. 3 is definitely your POW. Good play with symmetry and geometrics.
Hi Laura, I really like how you included blurred photos. This paired with your tonal quality makes for a great photo. I think your POW is 3. The lines created in the piece are beautiful and I like how you can see the lighting shone through the different pieces of the metal.
Hi! I really like how some of your pictures have a blur, it gives your pictures a unique and different look. I have to go with #13 as your POW. I love the framing and how you are not centered in the photo.
POW = 3
