Hey Rita! Very nice photographs! I enjoyed #11 because it is such an interesting way to show yourself! Although you are far away from the camera, you are the first thing I see in the picture when I look at it! Also, #7 and #8 are fantastic because it really shows contrast and I love cloud pictures! As for your POW, I would choose #7 because there is such great contrast of the dark clouds against the bright sky.
Hey Rita. Your pictures are awesome. I really like photo seven. The contrast between the sun and the clouds makes the picture look great in black and white. I also like photo one because the wall have so much graffiti and the toning brings out all the different parts of it.
really cool self portrait 11, with the camera so far back, getting the "enter my office" kind of vibe from it. made a good composition by adding more elements and details around you. pow = 7. the sky looks electrifying as if a bomb went off behind the clouds. nice contrast and good how you included the silhouettes of houses on bottom
The shadows in photo number 4 look awesome. I like your self portrait number 11 because of the depth of field. Your POW is photo number 8 because of the interesting pattern of the clouds.
Wow Rita! A few of your photo are really great! I mean they are all good, but there were four that really stood out. I love your self-portrait (number 11). You really framed this photo well. It manages to create a sorta scary scene in a creepy film kind of feeling. The darkness and shadow of your body against the backdrop of the window creates a great contrast and the beam across the ceiling creates an extension, as if directly from you, which makes the photo feel like it is going on and on. Both photo 7 and 8 are very dynamic. Particularly photo 7 has fantastic play between shadow and light, not to mention that you captured a great moment of mother nature at her finest. I love how the buildings at the bottom of that photo become a blackened silhouette, creating a nice touch of mystery. My favorite photo is number 1! I LOVE both the obviousness of the framing, as the artwork behind the wall appears to mimic your subject as opposed to the other way around, as well as the more subtle textures created all over the photo. Nice and bright above your subject and then disappearing into utter darkness in the lower right hand corner...brilliant! Photo 1 is your POW
I would have to say my POW is number 8. The way you caught the striations of the clouds almost makes it look like ocean waves rippling on sand. The contrast of the sky itself and the bottom of the clouds is breathtaking. You can almost feel the chill of the winter day in a quiet neighborhood as the sun is setting. Another picture I admired a lot was number 1. The intricate detail of the backdrop is very eye-catching. You almost want to read every curve and drawing like a story. The only thing I would have done differently in this shot was due to the photo being in black and white, I would not have had a person as the prime focus. The background is too chaotic and mesmerizing that it is hard to focus on two different focal points. I would have liked to see just the scenery.
Hey Rita! I really love your collection of photographs. I think your POW is photo #7. This photograph you captured of the clouds is so striking. I have never seen clouds arranged it what it seems to be in the image as strips or rows. It is very interesting. The light captured behind the clouds is electrifying. It almost looks as though these clouds were painted. I also really like how the bright sky is framed at the bottom by the silhouettes of the trees and the houses. I think this composition is very intriguing.
Hey Rita! I really enjoyed your photos and think that your POW should definitely be number 7. I love how the light is coming through the clouds making the clouds look like shadows. The cool way that the clouds are shaped really makes the picture too.
I think your POW is 7. The lighting is awesome in this photo. I also like 2. It is interesting how you have the person to the side and the cigarettes more centered it really makes the eye travel.
Hey, Reet! Great job on your black and white collection! My favorites here are 3, 7, and 11. I like photo number three because you do a very nice job with framing and still using a worm's eye point of view. It is clear that the photo is of a portion of a hand, and yet because it is shot in macro, it appears to be abstract. I like number seven because of the contrast and leading lines. your leading lines become brighter as the go down the photo and then they reach a mysterious silhouette of a house. I like number eleven the best however. You again utilize leading lines and this time, the contrast is low which evokes a different emotion for me. The picture looks as though it is being shot in a long, narrow room and the model positioned at the end of the hall is somewhat unsettling -- which I love! And for that I vote for your POW to be number 11. Keep up the gnarly work!
The Construction of the work: the shot uses visual and technical tools such as lines & patterns (especially the clouds, which are absolutely amazing looking), good highlights and rich black silhouettes, and a worms eye point of view to make it more dynamic and mysterious.
The Communication of the work: The photo took me a second to know what it was, but I appreciate those kinds of image. They make my mind think more. The content doesn't resonate with my own interests, but certainly is aesthetically pleasing.
The Conception of the work: Although I'm not seeing a pattern of motivation for the majority of these photos, I could see why #7's shot would catch your eye. It certainly does mine. Its a great shot.
