  2. Hey Steve! Nice photos! I liked photograph #6 because it is an interesting way to show your hobby of playing guitar and the colors in it are great too! I also liked photo #15 because it shows some nice shadows and is mysterious! As for your POW, I would choose #6!

  3. Steve! I like your pictures. I agree with Katie. I think that number six is a really creative way of showing that you enjoy playing guitar. I like that I can tell without having to read a caption. The shadows are really dark and it brings out the important parts of the picture! I would choose 6 as your POW as well.

  4. POW=6
its the rough and callused fingers that make a statement about dedication to the guitar into the photo
2 has good close up detail and contrast as well, good execution of mystery and geometry

  5. As weird as this may sound, I really enjoyed your body shots! I liked how you took the human form and utilized the light to create shadows and add mystery to the pieces. I had to stop and pause while looking at photo number 9 and I am still not certain what part of the body this shot is of! I really liked how you were not afraid to manipulate angles in all of your shots. My POW for you is also number 6 because I felt emotion from this piece. I feel like you captured a hobby of yours in a unique way that did not just come out and scream "hey look guys I play guitar". I also really enjoy the warmth and the grain of the photo.

  6. My POW would have to be your self portrait, number 15. I liked how you managed to capture your face well enough for your audience, but without showing it in it's the entirety. The light leaks and textures you used for editing this photo really completed it. It almost looks like a photo you would find in an old, antique trunk in an attic. As for photo number 9, there are many things I would have done differently. It does have the potential to express the human body form in a beautiful way. I think that if you positioned your back in a way that the light hugged every curve on your back that the contrast on your skin and muscles would present it more elegantly. It is hard as an observer to tell what the photo is of at first glance.

  7. Steve. So many of your photos are really good it was hard to choose from among them. Photo 11 is a really candid shot and I like how the shadow under his arm swallows up the bottom of the photo. I love the framing of photo 5. By dropping the bottle off into the corner you really draw the viewers eye to an object that might otherwise appear mundane. I love all of the instrument shots but, may favorite and also my pick for your POW is photo 6. This is a REALLY great shot. The way you have toned this photo gives the whole thing an organic quality. I love the play of darkness happening within the hole of the guitar, which in turn really frames the hand. The most appealing thing about this photo is how the play of shadow draws your attention to the hand and you caught the callouses in a way that really tells a story about the subject. Of most of the photo this week, very few really tell a story and I think your photo achieves that.

  8. Hey there, good job on these black and whites! My favorites are #2, 6, and 9. I like number two because you use leading lines and macro focus quite well. You also are aware of your light source and are using it to your advantage. Number six is very interesting and abstract. The presumable fingers underneath the guitar strings looks warped which creates a creepy and beautiful photo. There is also a nice contrast with the lines of the strings and like wavier lines between the fingers. And for that, I vote Number 6 as your POW! I like number 9 because it reminds me that human bodies can be so detailed and interesting yet so simple, which makes us mysterious. I think you captured this in this photo. Very well done!

  9. Hi! I have to say that your POW is #6. I think it's very unique but the realness of the cracked fingertips make me love this picture. It's very odd but it turns the worked hand into such a beautiful piece of art. The brightness that only comes from the right side also create a good contrast between the guitar and the hand. Great job!

I also really like #1 because of the motion I can feel through the blurred lines. I know it's a still photo, but because it's blurry around the people walking, you can feel the movement and it creates a real feeling. The shadows on the walls and the shadows of the models bodies are also great and they give it a lot of texture.

    Great work with your photos!

  10. I enjoyed looking through your collection of photos because they were all so different. My favorites are photos 1 and 15. In photo 1 I particularly likenthe blurred lines that you captured. I think your POW is 15. It is probably my favorite self portrait that I have seen so far. I love the angle that you took the photo anf how it only includes a portion of yout face. It has great tonal quality as well.
