Hello Lindsay! I really enjoyed photograph #3 because of the contrast of the smoke cloud and the guy in the photo with the sun beaming through. I also liked photo #5 because the contrast of the white railings against everything else is nice. For your POW, I choose #7 because I love the look of the sky against the trees. This photo really stood out to me because of the texture of the clouds!
I think your POW is #10. I like how the lighting works with the chandelier, and how there are people in the bottom of the photograph that you don't necessarily notice at first glance. Photo #3 is really interesting in the way you captured the illumination of the smoke from the sun behind it.
Hey Lindsay! I really liked the contrast throughout your shots. I think off centering a lot of your photos will add a lot to them or even zooming in certain aspects of them or cropping them in a unique way. For example, in photo number 11 the jewelry box could come to life a bit more if you cropped it in and off centered it or in number 10 you could utilize off centering also. For me your POW is number 3 because I really like the emotion captured in the subject and this precise moment. There is a lot of mystery which the smoke adds to and the lighting creates an interesting contrast.
Hey Lindsay. I really liked photo 8. You took what might otherwise have been a very mundane photo of the city from above and added a boatload of depth with the reflection. The fact that the reflective image is only a whisper, and that we never see a face come into vision really adds to the mystery. It creates longing that the photographer would have just been standing a little closer so one might be able to see who was behind the lens. I think your POW is photo 3. The way the darkness envelopes the entire bottom section of the photo as the sunlight is shinning in through the car window, illuminating the smoke created a very etherial effect. This was a very good capture. Good Job.
Cloudy afternoon #7 is awesome! It is shot at such a long angle that it appears that the road will never come to an end. I also like how you made the trees so dark that they almost don't even look like trees anymore. You can only really see the outline of them against the white ripples in the sky. Reflection #8 and Cityscape #9 are also interesting and fun to look at but I feel like they are very common, overdone shots. I do really like how you edited #9 though because it almost doesn't even look like the city.
My POW is cold beach #5. I do not know if you ever watched eternal sunshine of the spotless mind... but this definitely reminds me of it. It appears that If i walk up the stairs I will be walking right into the ocean. This picture makes me feel as if I am there, almost about to walk into the ocean. I also like that you took this shot on an overcast day. Typically people think of the ocean as a fun, bright place filled with happiness and sunshine. However, you chose to capture a different darker side which changed my perspective. There is always a bright and a dark side to everything....
Hi there, good start with your black and white's! I particularly enjoyed #3, #8, and number 10. Your POW should be #3, even though it is in a car, you utilize framing and lighting very well. It has an element of adventure and mystery. Number 8 is interesting because it almost looks like a lomo photo that has a double exposure. I also like how the figure is centered. I like number 10 a lot because you clearly utilize low lighting and texture. This photo evokes a nostalgic feeling inside of me, while keeping it centered creates a calmness. Keep up the good work, friend!
Hi Lindsay! Your pictures are great, there were two in particular that really stood out to me. Numbers 3 and 8 are fantastic. In the 3rd picture, I love the brightness in the top third of the photo, the extreme darkness in the lower third, and the middle of the picture has a great mixture blending the two thirds together with the stillness in the smoke. It's beautiful!
I also really enjoy number 8 because I like mystery behind the view since it is slightly hidden behind the reflection in the glass. It's really creative.
I would say that your POW should be #3. I think the contrast is so strong that it works very well. It's a really great picture.
Hi Lindsay, I think your POW is photo three. I love how the sun is so bright in the photo and adds such beauty to the smoke. The light contrasts so well with the dark outfit that the guy is wearing, overall it's a great photo
Hi Lindsay, I think your Pow is #11 because of the simplicity. The lighting highlights the details of the box and because the box is centered it is clear what the focus of the photo is, I also really liked #7, the way you were able to capture the clouds and the lighting/toning really add to the photo.
Hi Lindsay! I think #3 is your POW. I like the angle you chose for this shot and the contrast. I really enjoyed looking through all of your photos. They're a very unique and tell a story about you! Great work:)
