Yo Steve! Your pictures are good! I like all the different filters and colors you used in all your shots. I like photo 5 because the guys face is hilarious. I think your POW is 4 because I like the angle of the shot and that you got down on the ground to take it. It also looks like it hold some sort of memory to you. I also think that we should hang out soon bc i miss you :)
good job framing your subjects and shooting from a different point of view. 4 is definitely your POW. I love the angel at which you shot this and there is also a lot of created depth from it. It is interesting to see a out of focus foreground here and the background more clear. Good work.
Hey Steve. I am always impressed with your choices in subject matter and your ability to frame those subjects in a unique and provocative way. Once again you have an abundance of great photos. I love photo 17, the effects you applied clearly make this image feel very vintage. I love how you blurred out the exterior of the photo in 15 to focus more on the trash - and talk about memory; very little creates more images of vintage and memory than a photo of things discarded. I would chose photo 10 as your POW. Not only does the effects chosen help to enhance the feelings of nostalgia but, the subject matter is right on point. Both the broken skate board and the person waling away from it imply a feeling of leaving things in the past; walking away from the past if you will. As usual, your photos are at the top of the list for me. Great job!
Hey steve, I always enjoy your photos. One thing that I would suggest is trying to use closeness, lighting, or unusual angles to create "memory" or "vintage" rather than using a filter that gives an "old time" look. Regardless, you always use a great subject matter that creates creative photos. Most photos are taken from the eye level to help the viewer connect emotional with the subject. By putting the subject of the photo at the eye level creates an instinctual response. However, I still feel a response because you used a different point of view by using juxtaposition. You shot the light post from an unexpected angle, which gave much more impact than viewing an angle that is encountered on a daily basis. Looking up at the subject compared to looking at it or down on it creates a very unique experience.
Hey Steve, I really like your collection! You have developed a strong sense of your own style in these pictures and it gives me a taste of your ideas of time through imagination and memory. Your pictures have a very lomo feel and I like how you edited strongly but it actually strengthened your pictures. I think you've got some incredibly nostalgic looking photos like 4, 5, & 6 and some very well composed shots too. I think your POW should be number 11. I spent a long while looking at this picture. I like the way you captured the man, the building and the truck. The editing also reminds me of a sepia, vintage shot. It looks almost like it was shot during the industrial revolution. Awesome stuff!
pow = 1, the sky and the skate park come together beautifully here to create one whole composition that really flows. the texture and depth of color is really developed here and its just nice to look at, i appreciate how you used complimentary colors (blue and orange) with a texture overlay to create a vision you can share with an audience. overall, really nice photos and great use of vintage looking filters. the textures and vignettes really add nice elements to the photos. they seem deeper, more contrasty, and darker: in a good way, than i have have seen in your collection in the past and these are your strongest photos yet. great work.
Pow: 1 I literally looked at your first shot in amazement. That pictures is wonderful in incorporating the colors and filter to give an authentic vintage feel. The way that the scene meets with the sky and the ground is really amazing. You did a great job with your composition and choosing your subjects.
