Hi Hynda, your self portraits are my favorite photos of the bunch this week. Your editing technique for 19 was very unusual and I think it worked well with the photograph. Your POW is your second self portrait, 20. The sun gives the viewer a sense of time, and it helps to create beautiful shadows in your picture. Overall, your photos were really great this week.
One, Five and twenty are definitely my favorites. I love your way of capturing lighting in different ways. To me the lighting of these three definitely made your shots interesting and stand out. The texture in number one really draws the viewer in because texture adds an element to a two dimensional photograph. I also really like the moment you captured in 5. It looks as if time is standing still and you captured a really interesting moment. My POW for you this week is definitely number 20. It captures a very interesting personality and captures you in a very interesting moment. The use of light is also very interesting and successful.
After looking through your post, I do feel like I was placed back in time. The reason why I enjoy looking at 5 is you used all the techniques that we were taught in this shot. You really used light in this image and it is contrasted with the dark side of the room. When I look at this picture I imagined being in that abandoned room, alone. Sometimes by adding a light streak filter can make photos look tacky, or take away from the entire photo. However, because of the shadow and light coming in from the window/entrance, adding the light streak actually enhanced this photo, in my opinion. You captured a very interesting moment in time by using a diminishing perspective by bringing my eye to the foreground where the light is located, and then slowly to the back of the picture, where it is hard to tell what is actually back. For a photograph to be realistically appealing, a sense of depth in the setting needs to be preserved and I think you accomplished this in this photo.
Hynda! Your pictures blow mine right outta the water! They are so good! I definitely think my favorite is 1 and that it is your POW. This picture is about as vintage as it gets. I like the way you took the shot and the placement of the subject. I really like the color contrast as well.
Hey there, I really like the simplicity of all your photos. They have awesome FX and really capture that old time/memory feel that we were meant to have this week. What ever app it is you used, worked extremely well. To second that comment, I also like that you didn't over do the strength of the effects, and made it look like aging photos from the 70's and 80's. Great job. Favorite and POW is #1
Hi Hynda! I really love all of your photographs. You really caught exactly what this assignment was about. The techniques you used to make all your photographs work are great. I really like the stories behind all of your photos, I felt like I was taken back in time as I looked at your work. I think your POW should be photo 7 because the lighting is perfect here and I bet there is an interesting story behind this photograph.
Your POW is photo 15 because of the vibrant colors and the simplicity of the photo. It is really different than the rest of your photos. I like how you incorporate vintage and memory together with your photos as well. You take an interesting picture and then add the vintage filter to it and your photos look great!
Hey Hynda! Great pictures this week--it was hard to choose a favorite. I really like #15. Each block of bold color has a different texture to it and each really stands out on its own. I think your POW is #20, your second self-portrait. I love the editing with the picture's lighting and your body movement just seems to flow. It takes me right back to summer and I really need that on dreary days like today.
Hey Hynda! Really liked your collection this week! My favorites were definitely numbers 1 and 7. I think that your POW should be number 1. Something about the simplicity of the photo as well as the set up I think just really brings out the topic in it.
Really great photos for this crit! I really liked photo 1, and I think it is your POW. The simplicity of it really stood out to me. I liked that it was a simple shot against a very textural background with a simple filter. Good work!
I really love all of your photos in this week's collection! I think the contrast and the color in which you faded the images added a cool vintage feeling that evoked emotion by looking at them. I like the mystery in the photos like in the one with the broken apart book and the man's back. I wonder why the subject is the way it is and it seems to strike a certain memory, one I feel is mine but I cannot put my finger on. I think your POW is 1. I like how the headphones are on a floor that almost engulfs them but it makes you wonder why and the set up is brilliant.
