Hey Janelle! I really enjoyed looking through your photos for this weeks topic. I love that vintage, bronze filter that you used for a majority of your pictures. I love how you were consistent with the filter because it really created a great unity among your photographs. I would have to say that your POW is number 3. I love the energy that the two girls laughing give off. You seemed to have successfully captured a moment of happiness, which is portrayed really well in the photograph. I also love how the brick wall frames the picture. It helps to give the photograph that old and vintage feel. Great work!
Hey Janelle, one suggestion I would give to improve your photos for critique 4 is using different methods, techniques, or styles of shooting to have more of a range of pictures in your portfolio. The majority of your pictures have a yellow tone and the same filter added to them, giving them all the same experience. I would also suggest using different subjects or peoples in your pictures so it gives a different story each time to the viewer.
I chose 16 as your POW because I like that this is an updated mall scene, yet it looks outdated and vintage in a way. Adding a black and white filter enhanced this photo. Because there is no one on the escalator it gives I feel desolated. Well done.

Hey Janelle! I really liked all of your pictures but think you could have made them a little bit different throughout either by getting a wider range of photos or using different filters for them. The yellow hue does make them look vintage but I think you could have played around with some different ones. Other than that your photos were great and I would have to say your POW should be 14. I just really like that you took it from your car mirror which goes back to the memory theme of the assignment.
Photo 11 is really great and I would pick it for your POW. I like the way you shot the photo, presumably from inside your car. The depth created by the headlights of the other cars is really cool. Also, the look of the buildings is really great. Photo 14 is also really cool. I like the concept of the shot and how you used the mirror.
Hey Janelle. I actually disagree with Samantha. I love that you created a theme with your photos. I love the washed out white that permeates throughout many of your photos. They go well with the B/W shots and even seem well matched with the muted tones of your color shots. Of all your shots, I think 13 is your POW. I love the simplicity of the couple posing for a shot and the vintage feeling was created with the effect you put on the photo. I love this photo, it really feels like someone's memory.
POW- 20. I really liked the colors in which you captured the dog between the sheets. This evokes memories not only of my personal times but also it shows that by capturing this particular subject in a dreamy yet distant manner (due to the dim lighting and faded color) that everyone has something they loved and has had fade out of their lives. It is definitely a great one.
Pow: 2 I love how you incorporated your surrounding with the memory vintage assignment. Your Pow is the most interesting, I love the stance which shows that although your standing there you imply that your only there momentarily and I get a feel that you'll soon move on to something else. The filter you used also helped incorporated that feeling in the rest of your pictures.
Your pictures were very interesting because of the monochromatic colors used throughout them all. It was different from most of the class which made it really catch my eye. You did a great job capturing the whole essence of this weeks theme.
