  1. Hi Laura, your POW is 17. I like that you captured this room and its beautiful architecture when it was in use. There is a ton of activity going on in the photograph which made look at it for awhile. If you had captured this in an empty room, I don't think the photograph would have had the same effect on the viewer.

  2. Hey Laura, good pictures! I really like 15 for your POW. The beach is a place where I have so many good memories. I feel like most people can relate to this picture. It could be an emotional photo. I like the dim lighting that gives it a sad dreary feeling which contrasts with how the beach is usually portrayed.

  3. Hey Laura I think you have a lot of great photos this week and a lot of variety as well. 3, 8, 10 and 17 are my favorites. POW for you is number 10. I think you were able to shoot this subject in a way that way very interesting. Even though she is positioned in the center of the frame I like the gaze she has. I am uncertain as to whether it is happy, sad, pensive? There is also a lot of great light going on and the matte-like appearance turned out pretty neat.

  4. Hey Laura. I like quite a few of your photos but, photo 3 jumps out to me as your POW. Both the image and the effects go a long way toward conveying nostalgic memory and reflection. It's also a candid shot of a real moment, and those are hard to come by. Great Job!

  5. Hey Laura! You have some really great photos for this weeks topic. I thought it was really interesting how a lot of your photos are shots of people, rather than images of just old vintage objects. However, you did a really great job expressing a vintage feel in your photographs of people. I would have to say that your POW is number 12. I love how you shot a close up of the old vintage books. I love how the book in the middle of the row is turned in the opposite direction, and I think this makes for a really interesting composition. It makes me question why this particular book is turned around. Great work!

  6. Hi Laura! You have a lot of great pictures this week. A lot of them remind me of things that I remember from being a kid, so I think you got a good hold of the topic.

The color of #14 makes the picture seem like it was taken some time ago. The darkness from the wet spots on the boardwalk almost appear as if the wood was burnt making me wonder if there was something that happened there. Seeing pictures of the boardwalk remind me of summers years ago and it's great.

Your POW should be #5. I love the tint and lighting in the picture. The little bit of browns/reds/yellows make me think of old pictures and I think you did a good job capturing a lot of different things: the cat, flowers, the street reflection, etc. It's great!

  7. Hey Laura, I really love your collection! I love your style and I think you're really improving on lighting in your photos. All of your pics are super strong and they all evoke some sort of memory or creativity. My favorite one is number 4. It has great dimensions and leading lines. The lighting reminds me of a slightly older photo, like something I'd see during my childhood. I really love your self portrait number 2 for the same reasons. Also the pattern on the woman's shirt is totally amazing and adds texture to the shot.

  8. Laura, I really love you whole collection. I think you really captured the essence of the assignment. I think your POW is definitely 4. I can totally see this being a picture of some great day that the viewer could reminisce about. I also really like photo 9. I think it captures a real moment. There is something really genuine about it.

  9. Photo 17 is your POW. I really like the colors that you captured, and how you adjusted the levels to make them pop even more. The red ceiling and the bluish wall really go great together. I also like the arches in the ceiling, which really work to create a vintage look in this photograph. Overall I liked a lot of your shots, especially the look on the mans face in 14. Good pics this crit!

that pictures is really amazing. I love the pictures and the action, and the actual feel that comes from the pictures. I love how you incorporated nature and people in your shots. The filter you choose works really well with your composition. You give off a little mystery and overall fun in your pictures.
