Hi Rita, your POW is 14. This is a powerful photograph and I feel like there could be memories attached to this person or location..It is something that a lot of people can relate to. You took the photograph and a really nice angle so that the viewer could appreciate the environment surrounding the tombstone. In addition, I really like the editing technique you used.
Hey Rita! Nice pictures! I really like photo 8 and definitely think that is your POW. I really like the lighting. Did you use a filter or an app to take this picture? I really like the shot of the cars that fade into the skyline and the sky. It stirs up memories in me of tailgating or even living in Philadelphia in general.
Love your photos! You did a super good job! I love the variety of shots and subjects. I have so many favorites I can't even list them haha. Your editing really brings your photos to the next level. My favorite photos are the ones that you took outside. Your POW is 13. I really like the lay out of this photo and the tone of the overall color. It really drew me into the piece!
This photo combines not only memory, color and passion, but also extended vision. I still am unsure on how you captured this interesting shot- whether it is an application or you shot through something to create this effect. Either way it is very creative and aesthetically pleasing to look at. When I look at this picture I feel like i'm looking through the human eye to experience a past memory or a future experience in the retina. This is very unusual and mysterious photo which shows a completely different perspective. There is depth and contrast created from the bright light in the image and the dark rim. "Light at the end of the tunnel?" Great shot! 15 was also great.... I love how you used a diminishing perspective and showed a natural sense of depth in the world that surrounds us.
Hi Rita. I really like all of your photos but, two of them really jumped out at me. I thought that photo 4 did quite a bit to create the feeling of nostalgia and memory, while at the same time conveying a sense of loneliness. I like how you framed this shot to help create this feeling. However, I think your POW is photo 17. I think every person viewing these photos must have a memory of a favorite stuffed animal or a time from their past where they connected to such in a way that felt very "real". I like the softness around the edges of the photo, this helped to give it a "memory" feeling. Good Job.
Your POW is photo 4 because of the colors and how calming the scene is. I love your use of vintage and how you separated the vintage photos from the memory photos. I can tell which ones are for which aspect of the crit which is really cool. I also like photo 8 because it makes me wonder where you took it and what all of those cars are doing.
Hey! Great collection here. I am really starting to see your style coming out in your pics. I think your POW is hands down number 1. The lighting is perfectly nostalgic and the leading lines of the shadows, blinds and couch all pull me through the sands of time. Your pieces bring up memories and evoke new ones. I also love number 11, it looks like a 90's scanned photo. Fantastic job!
pow = 11, i like how it looks like you can see the stars through the ceiling of the room and there is something very dreamy about the photo. it makes me think of hallucinating almost how out of place but conceptual the photo feels. overall nice use of depth and monochromatic color schemes. the photos have a nice tranquil feel to them and have just the right amount of color and contrast.
Rita you are definitely one of my favorite photographers in this class. I love looking at your collection every week and even though I can't imagine it happening because you are already so good, your collections get better and better each week. I really love every single picture in this week's collection. They all evoke some type of emotion, memories that aren't necessarily mine but I can feel them and imagine how they happened. I think you have a true talent of capturing time in one shot. It was really hard to choose but your POW is 2 and 20 in my opinion. The partial shot of the girl in 2 shows that there is mystery, I want to see more but envision the rest of it in my mind. I like the fade of the picture and the lack of color because it shows a distant fading memory. Also, I love 20. It shows happiness and I am left wondering what it is that you are smiling about. The lack of color again makes the picture. The lack of color draws more attention to you who adds vivaciousness to the photograph. Great job!
Pow: 8 Your pictures are wow. You were very creative with the assignment. You picked up a little bit of everything and I can tell that you really played with your background and the things that you had to work with. The filter you chose works well with your subjects and you did a great job with your overall composition.
