Awesome picture Janelle! I like that you found a bunch of different things to photograph in different ways. I like the use of different angles,lighting, and color schemes. I think your POW should be photo 7. This picture has really good lighting and contrasting colors. The hands are dark and the sky is light which makes this photo stand out.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you played with some angling in your photos! I can also see how you have taken the time to spot out some interesting color combinations in the everyday world. I like your pictures of alcohol, but with the labels they can come off a bit of like an advertisement, so some rearrangement in the future can help out a lot with that! I think my POW is also number 7 because I like the concept and color differences. Good job!

ReplyDeleteAll the different angles that you used for these pictures is great. The fact that you switched it up every single shot makes everything more interesting. I really loved #7 as well the shadows on the hands and the brightness of the sky shows great contrast that really caught my eye.
Hey Janelle, nice photographs! I like the colors you captured in photo #5, and the reflection of the light on the wood. #10 is really neat! The beige and pink tones are nice, and that glass looks like it's ice cold! I think #7 would be your POW. It's really cute! I love the colors and the hands reaching up into the sky. It almost looks like it could be an Apple ad or something like that! Nice work!

Hey Janelle! You have really cool pictures going on here. The colors in all of your pictures seem to carry a similar style: warm and many different colors in one picture. I definitely think your POW is 7. The fact that the hands are not in the center attracts me to the photo even more. You used the rules of thirds to your advantage. Also, the apple logo on the hand (great usage of shadow by the way!) is not at first noticeable but the fact that it is hidden allows more mystery to enter into the picture.
ReplyDeleteHey Janelle. Photo 7.. hands down.. this is your POW! What a great use of framing and color while also creating mystery and expressing passion. Seeing just those arms and I still feel a sense of passion and excitement coming from your subjects. The way they w=contrast against the blue sky really draws out the color. This is a great shot!
ReplyDeleteI definitelt think that number 7 is your POW it shows passion and color in a unique way and you use the rule of thirds very well. Your collection is colorful and full of life. It is not only vibrant, but you also have an eye for good composition and candid photos. Nice!!

ReplyDeleteYou took a lot of pictures of the drinks you were having during the past few weeks of color and passion. While it is the photographer's choice on what to shoot I would try going outside and looking at things differently and trying to shoot outside, rather than what you are currently drinking. I do not feel a sense of depth when I look at some of your pictures. If you tried using a different angle such as a wide angle your images would have a much better sense of depth.
I chose #7 because of the contrast of colors. One of the principles behind good color photography is contrasting colors. The hands and arm is an orange shade, while the sky is a bright blue. Colors create emotional responses and blue is typically seen as being cold, sad, etc. This contrasted with the warm, orange color is very visually stimulating. Not only are both the colors opposite from each other on the color wheel, they also express different, contrasting emotions.
Janelle, I really like your pictures! I think your POW is 14. I love the way the colors are in this one. it makes me wonder where the purple tones are coming from. I also love the contrast the green gives. I also really like 7. I think the sky looks awesome against the hands. The framing is cool here too.
ReplyDeleteI would pick photo number 10 as your POW. The way you captured the subject through the glass makes the photograph very interesting. The way that photograph is colored also creates a very nice theme. Good work overall on all of your photographs, they are all very unique.
