Hey Samantha! You took some really nice pictures! I really like that you used close ups for most of your photos. I think that for the types of things you were shooting, this was the correct choice of shot. I think your POW should be 6. I really like that you used white as the main color. I think most people forest that white is still a color and works great when you are contrasting bright colors with it. I like that the other balls in the shot are multicolored and that there are only a few so the eye is drawn to them.
The Construction of the work: the shots use visual and technical tools such as point of view (both close ups and landscapes, and birds/worms eye views) as well as some abstraction to make it more dynamic and mysterious.
The Communication of the work: The photographs can be read, for the most part, pretty easily. Some more so than others. The content does not really resonate with my own interests, but I do find quite a few aesthetically pleasing. The cupcake photo though...Thanks, now I'm hungry and craving sweets!
The Conception of the work: The photographs are about tons of different things, and I see some interest in landscape and light settings. Not that they all have a specific meaning or anything, but I can see why you would be compelled to shoot such nice sunsets!
As for your POW, I'd say that its #8 - The Ice. I sat here for a while making shapes out of it, relating it to things I know. I totally see a Reindeer!
Content: I love your pictures!! The visuals are very stimulating Form: The brightness and colors scream out of the screen Conception:The picture do not seem to tell a similiar story but they are compelling to the eyes POW:5
I would have to say your POW would be number 11. The geometric shapes captured in this photo are unique and are vibrant and colorful, almost imitating art. A suggestion I have for number 14 is when taking self portraits, you should make the photo more about you. There is a certain feeling you get from the picture that you know the photographer did not took the photo themselves because you can tell someone was cropped out and was taken by someone else.
Hey Sam, the brightness and colors of all your pictures seem to set a uniform theme throughout your collection regardless of the variety of subjects throughout the photos. There's definitely great usage of angles in each shot and this works to your advantage. Your POW is 9. It is typical in many pictures to place the subject in the middle and that often becomes pretty boring but you used it to your advantage. The sign in the middle works for your picture because it is faded and allows for the attention to be drawn more around the sign than the actual sign itself. I love the compilation of color in this picture, works really well and bounces off each other to balance and bring the photo together. Really cool job.
Hi Sam. I really like your exploration of color in your photos and you have a very good eye when it comes to framing. A great example of both of these things is in photo 8. This has great "popping" reds which contrast well against the vanilla cake and absolutely evoke passion (as in.. I REALLY want to taste one of those). Additionally the way you framed this one makes it very artistic. Several of your sky shots also do a good job of capturing varying colors and textures. I think your POW is 9. While this photo doesn't have a tremendous amount of color variation, it is a VERY well framed shot and conveys a cold peacefulness that is enticing. I also feel like it captured the essence of winter. Good photos all around though.
You have a very nice photo collection here. My favorite one is number 11 and I think it should be your POW. It is abstract yet it still contains lots of color and it gives of a passionate energy. Your photos are unique in that they contain a lot of intimate objects yet they still hold passion. Very well done! I also really like number 4 and your use of the rule of thirds and silhouettes.
I like that a lot of your photos are very close up to the subjects within the photo. Your use of color is very cool! I like the patterns that are represented in your photos. I think your POW is 11 because it makes me wonder what it is and the colors are awesome.
Hey Sam! Really nice photos this week. I love how vibrant the colors are in each of your images. I would have to say that your POW is number 9. I love how the bright blue graffiti writing pops against the darker background. It creates a very central focal point. I also really like how the light in the center slowly fades out into dark in the corners. This also helps to draw the eye to the center of the image. Nice job!
I really like the use of color in these photos. The saturation in the colors was used very well, making all of the colors really pop. For your POW I would pick number 2. I really like the contrast between the red and white, and the geometry that exists within the shot.
I really liked how colorful your photos were overall. My favorites are # 8,9, & 10. Number 10 has good colors and you captured the scene well. #9 is a super cool shot of the frozen branches. It really captures winters impact and teh hard focus on the closest branch craeted a great blkur in teh background which added depth to the picture. I would select #9 as POW because I really enjoyed the vibrant colors and the framing used. It is something simple that we could see any day and the picture really just felt like a snapshot of moment to me.
