  1. Hello! My POW for you is photo number 7. I feel like this photo was the most successful in capturing movement also most successful at appearing mysterious and telling a possible story. This photo has very good subject placement which helps with the success of this photo. For the future I would suggest playing around with some more filters or playing with the contrast. I feel like this would add more of a mood to your photos. Throughout your photos you had successful subject placement!

  2. Hey Janelle. Your photos are really creative. I like that you used a good variety of color and style. I would definitely say your POW is 4. I like that photo of the girl walking and the same girl but a different picture layered over it. It makes it look like a ghost is in the photo. This provides the paranormal aspect of the assignment.

  3. Hi Janelle, I think that your POW is 7. I enjoy the simplicity of this photo and I like that there is an object in motion in comparison to a standstill object. You did a great job at capturing the movement of the keys. To me, this photo has a sense of mystery.

  4. pow = 11, the wide angle effect done with pano really opens up the picture and gives you a sense of the whole space the stairs are in rather than just a snap shot of a section of the area. the lighting was very effective here and i really enjoy how the downstairs lighting is warmer and red, and upstairs in the room you shot gave a whole different vibe with the cooler, greener looking light, that makes the space look somewhat erie.

i do also like the relatable scene shot in 7. the hanging, jingling keys from the door reminds me of living in the city and not being able to get into my apartment fast enough to officially end my day. nice motion in this photo too.

raising the roof in photo 9 is good too, humorous picture

  5. Your POW is photo number 7 because I think that it's a really cool idea. I like that you kept the door knob still in the photo but the keys are blurred. I also like how you used blurry elements in a lot of your photos, you incorporated it in interesting ways. Photo number 17 is also very interesting because of the light and the depth of the photo.

  6. POW = 15

I love how this photo captures literally everything we have learned. It is a panoramic, but also you captured interesting geometry, lighting, depth, and shadows. My eye is carried from the interesting shaped lamp to the shadows that it creates in the angles of the wall. I also love how dark the background is in comparison to the contrasted bright, white light. One suggestion I do have is getting out of the car when taking photos outside. This will make your photos appear more realistic and interesting. You can see a lot more of your shot if you aren't confined to a car.

    Great work!

  7. Hey Janelle!

I also believe that your POW would be number 7. It really captures the motion of the keys hanging from the door. It's very simple and the contrasting colors make the motion of the keys just pop out even more. All of your photos were very interesting and really showed your understanding of the assignment.

  8. I believe that photo 11 should be your POW. It really stands out to me because of the simple but ascetically pleasing color palette. The overall use of shutter speed in your photographs brings an interesting element. The elements that you chose to focus on and blur created a cool feel to many of the photos including, 7, and 4.

  9. Hey there, The majority of your photos were similar. Maybe throw in some things that no one else could take pictures of to make them more meaningful and interesting. Other than that, I love #15. Its definitely my pick for your POW because it has an awesome aesthetics to it. The rule of thirds comes in because of the off centered light fixture (which is awesome by the way), and directs the eye around the room. I love the shadows the light is making (its kind of like a light modulator which is unique), and it reminds me of a disco ball but cooler.

  10. Hi Janelle. Quite a few of your photos capture candid moments. Particularly photos 8, 14. I also like the ghostly image you captured in photo 4. This was a great example of double exposure. I must say that your POW is pretty unique in that it is actually two photos. I love how photo 9 and 10 work in conjunction with each other. I could see these two pieces hanging on a wall, one above the other. The way the photos bend and the blurring around all of the edges really creates something artistic here.

  11. Hey Janelle! Really cool photos for this week. A lot of your photos are shot at really cool angles and make for really interesting compositions. I would have to say that your POW is photo number 7. I love the movement that the image creates since you can see the keys swinging in the door knob. I also think its really interesting how you chose to take a picture of what you would normally consider such an ordinary object and make it into a really interesting object by playing close attention to little details. Really creative and awesome shot.

  12. Hey Janelle, nice work with your photos! You captured a lot of different objects and did a great job with your layering and panoramas. #1 is neat because you showed the motion of opening a wine bottle through layers. I think your POW should be #15. The main focus for me is the bright light... but what makes it even more interesting is the shadows it creates on the wall behind it. Nice work!

  13. Hey Janelle! Great work on the collection this week. I really liked the lighting (the darkness and the bright lights together) that you created in many of the pictures. I also really really enjoyed looking at the collection as a whole because you captured so many everyday elements that we would pass by everyday and gave them an insightful and unique perspective. Great job with that! My POW for you would be 7! I really liked how you captured something so simple and made it have more meaning. The movement made the picture stand out. The message that I got out of it was that we are never still, always moving and in a rush to get out. Really cool!
