  1. Hi Jasmine, you some really nice panoramas in your collection this week. I like that you have chosen to capture self portraits from a very different perspective than the majority of the class. The environments of your self portraits are very captivating.
Your POW is 8. Even though this is simply a city street, I found myself staring at it for quite a while. You managed to make this simple neighborhood look so inviting through this photograph. It makes the viewer want to walk down the street to see what else it has to offer.

  2. 9 is your POW. You took some very cool panoramic shots, and #9 happens to be my favorite out of this critique. I like how my eye is originally at the forefront and then it moves to the back. This picture in a way creates an illusion, and it seems like this photo could go on for forever and ever. Not only did you capture extended seeing, but this shot shows that you have been learning from previous critiques by the angle of the shot, the shadows, and how the light carries your eye. This is very aesthetically pleasing to look at and is very refreshing, yet mysterious. I do wish you would have tried to do a few other shots other then panoramic to give me different types of photos to choose from. Regardless, your photos are very interesting and pleasing to look at this critique!

  3. Jasmine you did an awesome job with your pictures. I really like that you got outside and took a lot of shots from different angles. I think that your POW is 10. The way you shot this photo makes the tracks look like a roller coaster. This warped effect is really cool! It is a great example of how you can take pictures that extend beyond human sight!

  4. pow = 17, the colors developed in this photo are really eye catching and they blend into one another creating nice range of hues.

I'm really into your panos in this project. they are simple but highly detailed in a way that ads complexity by using colors and objects. i feel like these are scenes most people wouldn't notice but you did and executed the shots very well.

  5. Hi Alex. Ok..so, photos 8, 9, and 18 are all really great example of creating an artistic scape out of something otherwise normal. I really like 9 in the way that you captured the street wrapping back around the building on the corner. This is something a viewer might not otherwise be able to take in with a regular photo and I think that really shows that you were listening to what the professor was looking for. Ironically, the photo I liked the most was the one that has the least obvious subject matter in it. I think photo 6 is your POW. I'm not even sure what this is a photo of but, it comes across as a true piece of art. It actually looks like a painting and I found myself starring at it for quit a while contemplating just what it was a photo of (clearly that makes for good art).

  6. Your POW is photo number 2 because of all the color in the photo as well as the mystery and the layering. I like your panoramas because of the angle that the photo is taken and how you were able to keep the view straight so it looks like just a photo taken from far away. Photo number 17 is really cool because of how you make the trees look extremely tall and it is interesting to look at.

  7. Hi Jasmine, Cool photos!!! I love photo #1. I really like the color balance and it has some mystery in it as well. It looks like there is a ghost in the photo. I think you should make this your POW! the rest of your work is great. I like the techniques you used to make this assignment a success. good job!

  8. Hi Jasmine! I really enjoyed looking through your collection. I noticed throughout that you have utilized some quirky angles to do your panoramas and other photos with. I think that is a great idea because it provides a different perspective and adds to the extended seeing. Good examples of this can be found in your photos 8-12. Your POW should be number 12 in my opinion because you have taken fishing poles that are usually very rigid and straight, and you have made them very interesting and textured with great patterns and leading lines. Great work!

  9. Hey Jasmine!
I really liked your collection of pictures for this project and really enjoyed all of your panoramic pictures. I really liked number 2 because I keep looking at it trying to figure out what it is and seeing different shapes and textures everytime I look at it. I would say your POW should be number 8. Again even though it is a panoramic picture the angle of the street going the opposite way adds so much depth to the picture to really make it work.

  10. For starters, you killed it with panoramic. Like, really killed it. Super clear and defined photos, with awesome perspective and Pov for all of them. You definitely have an eye for extended seeing shots, and it shows. I love the way you used color to your advantage, and even the BW one was one of my favorites as well. #9 and #16 were definitely my favorite two. The bridge photo was mentioned by the teacher, and for obvious reasons. It was great use of time, and seems like you caught the bridge around sun set, and the color it created was super unique. The BW woods shot is awesome because its different, well lit, and composed wonderfully. Your POW though, is #9 for sure!

  11. Jasmine you had really great panorama shots. Numbers 8, 9, 16, and 18 were my favorite. The scene you established in 18 is very peaceful and contains a good use of lighting. The use of black and white in 16 adds emotion and mystery to the otherwise simple picture. 8 and 9 both incorporate an excellent use of color and capture a unique angle of the scenes. The natural light in number 9 makes the picture standout but I would select number 8 as POW because of the subtle warmth and mystery of the photo.

  12. Hey Jasmine! I love your collection this week. It definitely came together and seemed like it had a reoccurring theme of elements inside and around the house. It seemed as though you wanted to capture the abstractness of everyday elements, things that we use but do not look at closely. Great job with that! I think your POW is 17! I really like how you captured the scene at a vertical angle and how the color starts out radiant and bright but starts to fade into a white as you get higher and higher up. I really loved it again! Great job JASMINE!
