Hello! I really liked the way you incorporated blur and extended viewing into your self portrait photographs! This really helped create a specific mood and emotion that you depicted. You also are very successful at your subject placement which definitely enhances your photos and makes them interesting.Your use of tone and color also stands out in your photos. Especially in photo 9 the color adds to the emotion behind the piece and makes the subject stand out. My POW for you is photo number 12. I love scene photos and I really enjoy the lighting and shadowing that you captured in this photograph. I feel like scene photos done well can elicit emotion and a story behind them and I feel like you were successful in creating this kind of image. I also really love the color, which adds to the mood.
Hi Jasmine. I like all of your photos but, I really feel like you captured something in your self portraits.17,9,8,7,and 4 all have a real artistic expression that allows the viewer to connect to you on a more personal level. I think your POW is photo 9. The double exposure, showing both your profile and a front view of your face really created something beautiful. You really managed to catch your eyes in a way that draws the viewer into the photo. Quite alluring.
Hi Katie! You have some really cool pictures. Theres seems to be a reoccurring theme going on in your collection of ceilings, windows, and general corners in the house. 2,3,4,5,6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, & 16 all seem to belong to the same collection. There are corners in all of these pictures even if some are more hidden from others. I really like how you used blur throughout your photos to create a mystery in the illuminated settings. My POW for you would definitely be 9. I love the lighting, the "two" of your face making it mysterious, and the way it is off center adds a certain depth especially capturing the sadness in her eyes.
more interesting being that they contain more mystery. 7 and 8 are my favorites. They both seem very illustrative of a deep emotion, one in thought and the other in a sleepy state of mind. 13 and 15 are also photographs that caught my attention. The window image captured so much color and illuminated lightness. The stair image is also really interesting to me. I like the play with geometric lines overlying on each other. POW for me is 8.
This looks like it is straight out of a murder mystery movie. I like how you choose to make nothing in focus, and everything seems like it was viewed in an alternate dimension/time. When I look at this photo it does not look like I am currently looking at something. I like how it appears almost ghostly. I think it was a great decision to make everything blurry on purpose so there is no focus in the picture. By deliberately defocusing during this photo created a very mysterious image, changing the time in space.
Really liked all of your pictures and liked that many of them had the blurred look to them. I think your POW should be number 3. I like how it is blurry and makes it look like the window is more extended than it is even though it is the camera that is moving to make it look that way. Overall great job with all of your photos.
Great pictures overall! I would absolutely pick #11 as POW. I love the warmth and tone of this picture. Also the angle in which the picture was taken is unique. Finally the slight blur and doubling of the images that resulted creates this almost eerie feeling to the picture.
Pow: 12 I also liked #17. I had a hard time deciding between the two. I like how your panoramas show all four corners of the room. its a 2 dimension view of a 3 dimension space. It looks like your breaking down a box, at the same time the bright color in the room gives off the excitement to the photo. I like how you created mystery with your shots. I felt like I was looking through pictures of a scary movie. Those steps in #15 was very errie. I enjoyed your set of photographs.
